Who is he and why is he The Top Home Inspector?
His name is Joseph Nam and he is the owner of VA HOME INSPECT, LLC and a Former Disabled Veteran of The Marine Corps. He is the well-dressed citizen you see to the left of every page of this site. His company, VA HOME INSPECT, LLC Serves VA and DC with Lockbox Access. This is him in his own words, "I, Joseph Najm am the Director of VA Home Inspect, LLC, a Former Marine and one of the few Virginia State Licensed Real Estate Inspectors (3380000493) issued by the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations. Plus, I am an internationally recognized InterNACHI Certified Inspector, a Former Realtor in the Great State of Virginia who knows the "ins and outs" of a Real Estate transaction. Finally and Humbly, I am honored to hold the rank of a Fully Certified Inspector of this Country's Most Prestigious and Respected Home Inspector Organization, the "American Society of Home Inspectors" (ASHI). Joseph states, "I am that inspector the Realtors HATE!. They hate me because I have been labeled as a "deal killer" because I tell it like it is. With so many foreclosed homes on the market, inspections and purchasing has been geared more towards them lately. Many people want to hear that the home they are considering is a good buy and that nothing is wrong with it. Well, if you would like to hear that about a home that was not maintained, probably has termites, and will need big bucks to fix when it's your time to sell, then I am the wrong inspector for you." Joseph goes on the explain that he does not get many business from Realtors as they know his "report every item" work ethic. Joseph says about that, "Realtors don't really like an inspector who tells it like it is. They would rather me make the buyers feel better about the home and tell them not to worry about anything. Well, I the Checks and Balances in the real estate world of Virginia and for my clients. I work in my clients' best interest and that means letting them know exactly what they are getting into, and what they will be inheriting. I do not leave items out of my inspection reports for the sake of getting business from the Realtors". And so it was with that line, that Joseph Najm, owner and operator of VA Home Inspect, LLC has been chosen to be the 2012- "Top Home Inspector".
Joseph explains his family history ,"My family came to this country 45 years ago and each member has been successful in business. Most work in the hospitality industry while some are educators and doctors. I am very proud of my family for the way they treat each other. I have been living in the DC area my whole life, 36 years. I am familiar with all the types of houses in the VA, DC and MD area. I provide excellent referrals to the agent who recommended me for their home inspection. I provide 24 Hour Service if Needed as I offer Continuing Phone and In-Person Support for my Clients. I have a telephone hotline open for R.E. professionals that they can use when at a property and need an immediate answer or anytime. I have a pre-sale inspection service for half the price of a regular inspection. Please visit my website. Please copy and paste into browser http://www.PreSaleHomeInspection.com. Remember these are half the price."
"My home inspections are an educational class as well as an inspection. I show the buyers everything they need to know regarding the proper maintenance of the home, etc... I prepare the buyer to get the most money when the buyer sells."
Areas of Expertise
"I perform general safety inspections in homes (condos, THs, SFHs). I specialize in teaching buyers and owners how to maintain their homes' good condition for maximum resale value. As well as finding health issues for buyers, I also show them what to do and what not to do. I put everything I said verbally on a hard copy report and on an electronic report."
"I would like to stress that First Time Home Buyers are my specialty as well because I love to answer questions. I pride myself in the fact that I also specialize in calming nerves. Buyers can get overly worried and I dedicate my undivided attention to help them relax and enjoy the real estate process."
"I have translator friends that speak all languages." Buying a home is very stressful and buyers are skeptical of everyone in the business. I put buyers' worries to rest when buyers spend some time with me and they realize I am out for their best interest. The buyers will learn what they have only dreamed. They will know more than their neighbor when I get done with them.
"I have been in the business of Home Inspections for almost a decade in the Greater Washington area. I taught myself the business through a history of construction, handyman experience, reading and watch-n-learn. I take continuing education every day for at least 30 minutes. I believe that satisfaction is not complete until I close my textbook. I am a former marine and I know what it means to work hard."
"I specialize in making all parties come to terms with the findings of the home inspection. Sometimes buyers can "freak out". This is no good. I calm down the tension caused from buying a home. What good is a house if it's not maintained properly? Think you will have problems selling later. Well, you might. I make sure it doesn't happen if you do what I say."
